I am headed out to pick up apricots from the tree we have in our backyard. It is possessed.... we have our work cut out for us. A friend of mine came over last weekend and picked up two boxes of apricots to make freezer jam and tarts. The tart was excellent. As for the freezer jam... I have not tried it yet.
I can't believe how many apricots we have everywhere. Al has already filled up the big green garbage container once. It was so full and so hot here it leaked everywhere. Gross! Rotten apricots are the worst. For some reason the peach tree decided not to do well this year. Might have been the bug spray... might have been the lack of water. We decided to get rid of the flower beds in the backyard so the nearly constant supply of water vanished. Going to have to do better next year.... if the tree survives. It really is on it's last leg, but when it does produce the peaches are gorgeous.
Now that I think about it I better get to gym so I can avoid apricot detail in the back yard. LOL
